Ender is not a Rhymer

"Get your jacket
Get your hat
Daddy is skinny
And Mommy is ___"

Well, for fun, when the boy was younger, I drubbed up the previously rhyming pattern for my boy. My wife gave me and sideways glance as I said this, but I remained undaunted, waiting for my son to finish the obvious rhyme.

And then he piped up with "And Mommy is skinny too".

Now, however being disappointed in my son's lack of rhyming ability, and chucking all plans I had for him using iambic pentameter or some such derivation for becoming the next Shakespeare, I had to smile.

Either he was convinced that the truth wins out with his 'Mommy is skinny too', or he was being diplomatic. Either way, it became a great exchange between the too of us for the next several years.

It was only recently that he finished the phrase as I might have expected. And now the game is no more fun.
